Our Meeting

On Sunday the teachers, kids and parents who are going to Ellerslie had a meeting.  Heaps has been happening and there are plenty of things to be done.

Flights and accommodation has been booked.  Parents, teachers and kids will be coming and going over the two weeks - a logistical challenge.
Mr A has built the Pizza Oven in Christchurch and it is in storage.
Mr Stewart and Mrs Turner went to a meeting for exhibitors - tips included, vacuuming lawns, taking coloured felt tip pens to cover marks on plants and to wear socks in the garden so the plants don't get damaged.
About 30 families have been looking after plants and their is a working bee this Sunday to stain decking and build fencing from recycled pallets.

We are working on fundraising activities
BBQ 16th Feb at Mitre 10
Selling raffle tickets
Selling Mitre 10 mystery envelopes
A family fun night planned for the 14th February

Work has been done to get sponsorship from  the following food companies, Cookie Time, Nyco Chocolates, Cafe LaFare Coffee, and Yummy Apples - yeah!!!

3 dads are going down first to do the building work, others are going down to prepare the gardens. Kids are not allowed to go on site until Feb 3rd and will be making sure everything has been done right.  Judges come in on the Monday afternoon and we will get the results on Tuesday afternoon, which is also when the show will be open to VIPS and media.  The show is open to the public from Wed 6th - Sunday 10th March.  The garden will then be pulled down and taken to Wharenui School where it will be rebuilt - there will be a hand over ceremony on the Monday.  The 'peoples choice award' will be done by text - so we will keep you posted.

We are all getting excited!
