Swan Plants

Here is a report from one the families who are looking after some swan plants for Ellerslie.

They are growing great guns and I had to re-pot them today. The boys and I constructed a protective netting to keep the butterflies away till the required time. It was a symphony of recycling and good luck.... I had some old chicken wire at home which I used along with some bamboo stakes to keep it upright.  By a stroke of good luck, throwing rubbish away at the right time in the right bin... I found inside it the fine netting and thought "perfect!"

The photos are of my son Billy Kerrigan 5, helping to re-pot our swan plants, and Jaime and Billy Kerrigan checking out the finished result.
